1. A Study Bible:

A Study Bible is the most important resource for any Bible student or seeker trying to understand the Bible. A Study Bible will allow you to explore and learn more as you read, because it cross references other verses, supplies information about the verses, such as the historical and background events. A Study Bible will also provide timelines, and indepth background about the specific books of the Bible, including who wrote it, when it was written, where it fits in the timeline along with other books. Knowing that Ezra, Nehemiah, Zechariah, Haggai, Esther, and Malachi were written during the "Second Temple" period, helps you understand the context of the text.

Another example, Jeremiah, Daniel and Ezekiel all lived in Jerusalem at the same time, before the Babylonian invasion in 605 B.C.,is significant. The next most important resource for Bible student is a Bible Dictionary.  A Bible Dictionary gives detailed background information of people, places, things, historical events, etc, that might not be included in the Bible.
With a Bible Dictionary you will get a more complete understanding of events in the Bible.

For example when it says Abraham purchased a burial site from the sons of the Hittites in Genesis 23, do you know who the Hittites are?  Where did they come from? What is their background? Most people keep reading without ever learning who the Hittites are.  With a Bible Dictionary you can look up the term and understand who they are. 3. Bible Concordances:

Most people read a Bible translation, translated from the Hebrew,Aramaic and Greek  texts.   For many who want to go deeper into the original language learning Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek is a huge hurdle. What can be done?  Answer,learn to use a concordance. With a Concordance you can reference every word of the Bible in the original language.  You can learn the "Root" meanings along with knowing the other places the same WORD is used.

This will help you to go further into the text, rather then relying on the translator, you can access the text in the original language.                           

The Strongs Concordance has a corresponding number with every word, this means you

do  not have to be fluent in the language to use the the resource. Below is an example of a Hebrew word used in the Old Testament.

4. Interlinear Hebrew and Greek Bible

If you want to read the Bible in the original language but you don't read Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek, what can you do? Buy an Interlinear Bible  it is the next best thing.  Each word of the Bible is noted in the original language along with its corresponding "English" word next to it's Strong's Concordance number.  This resource will allow you to read the Bible word for word in the original language.  See below for an example.

5. E-Sword-Bible Software (FREE)

This is amazing software and its free. The software is a gift to the Church from the developer. We highly recommend it, one of the best software suits available. To duplicate the resources you would have to spend thousands of dollars. Another great aspect of this software is the bible verses are hyperlinked. That means you do not have to look up each verse, they just appear as you scroll over the verse, this alone will save you untold hours.  We cannot say enough good things about this software.
